![]() I believe the movie wants to send a message: Even though the online world is fictional, the love could be true," he said. "More and more people are relying on the internet to communicate. Jing, who once partnered with Angelababy in the 2010 romance film Hot Summer Days, said the film reflects the changing social lives for the youngsters. To those players you've rivaled or teamed up with, you'll be really curious to meet them personally," she said last week. "I once played a game continuously for 12 hours. Initially attracted by the script, she said she had intentionally indulged in online games to psychologically understand her new role. Switching between a digital world and real life, the tale revolves around two video-game players, who develop their romance from online to offline.Īlthough receiving kudos for her tough alien-fighter role in the Hollywood blockbuster Independence Day: Resurgence, Angelababy said she will focus more on domestic titles. The fantasy romance feature stars Angelababy and actor Jing Boran, who is known for one of China's highest-grossing films, Monster Hunt. Love O2O, adapted from the author Gu Man's namesake best-selling novel, will open in Chinese mainland theaters on Aug 12. Overall, the film was alright, but the show is so much better. ![]() ![]() Lastly, the ending credits scene at the end of the movie was seriously out of place. LoveO2O the movie is a better mix of reality and gamer fantasy. Honestly, who can compete with Yang Yang? I watched both versions of LoveO2O and prefer the movie version over the series. However, everything else about the show was better. The dorm rooms and the internet café weren’t as pretty as they were on the show which seems to fit more of the college student ambiance. Plus, I liked how the settings were a little bit more nitty-gritty. What I appreciated from the movie more was that Wei Wei is tougher in it. The movie lost that along with those college first love feels. Something else I thought the show did better was the important school campus vibe. The way CAO Guang suddenly flipped his tune and romantically confessed to Wei Wei immediately after getting burned by her during their first meeting was the most ridiculous plotline ever. Let’s talk about changes that actually bugged me. Plus, Mengran is supposedly the prettiest girl at school, so why couldn’t they cast an actress who would be able to pull off that title? Even Wei Wei’s friends/roommates in the TV show looked better than their movie counterparts. Production could’ve taken the liberty and gotten rid of her like how Zhen Shui and CAO Guang were combined which was a good decision. Also, Mengran was not needed in this movie her two scenes were a waste of time. I was upset that the strong bonds between XIAO Nai and his roommates/work partners did not come through in the film. A big part of it is because the show had more time to let the characters grow, friendships, foster, and relationships develop. Personally, I thought the show was way better. However, it didn’t take away from the storytelling experience. The special effects were fun though there were some random ones I didn’t understand. The main actor, JING Boran, did an excellent job as XIAO Nai. The plot had a good flow, and the main relationship developed well. I was a fan of Angelababy when she was originally a model in Hong Kong, but since then, her acting hasn’t done much for me.Īnyways, the movie was decent, and I enjoyed it enough. I knew that there is also a movie edition starring Angelababy and JING Boran and was interested in comparing the two. Last year, I watched the Chinese drama, “Love 020”, and loved it to bits and pieces. ~ Warning! Spoilers! Chinese Movie Review: “Love 020” (微微一笑很傾城) ~
